“It’s not a homicide-suicide, police said it may have been drug related,” a Suffolk County Police spokesman told on Thursday.

According to authorities, Julian was the owner of the house.

On April 26, Saalfield was reported missing by his wife. As part of a missing person investigation, Fourth Squad detectives were responding to the Hollywood Ave. home when they made the discovery.

The relationship between the two men is unknown, but investigators believe they may have been friends. Nothing has been confirmed, said the police spokesman.

According to court records, Saalfield was incarcerated in North Carolina and New York in the 1990s for criminally selling a controlled substance, the New York Post reported.

A neighbor of Julian’s described him as a kind person who had long volunteered at the local pantry, but also had a dark side.

“He had a serious drinking and drug problem,” the neighbor, who asked not to be identified, told in part the Post, “He was a crazy guy.”
