Following the Ring’s installation at Place Ville Marie, two new works will be added to the public art collection in downtown Montreal.

The first project is expected to see the light of day in 2024 at the intersection of Berri and Sainte-Catherine streets. Titled Irregular Diamonds, Yann Pocreau’s bronze work will consist of three prisms incorporating dates, quotes and names.
“Yann Pocreau’s work is a testament to the burgeoning of the Latin Quarter, with its university environment and social realities,” said Ericka Alneus, in charge of culture and heritage at the City of Montreal’s Executive Committee.
This is Yann Pocreau’s third public artwork after “Leurs effigies” installed on the Grand Quai du Port de Montréal and “Archéologies” on view in the forecourt of the Maison de la Culture in Verdun.
Artist Valérie Blass will design her work in collaboration with Avenue McGill College project consultants and city services.
