Two Palestinians and one Israeli killed in West Bank

Two Palestinians and an Israeli were killed in violence in several areas of the occupied West Bank on Thursday, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry and Israeli emergency services.

The West Bank, Palestinian territory occupied by Israel since 1967, has been hit by an intensification of violence since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas in the Gaza Strip, triggered by the Islamist movement’s unprecedented bloody attack on October 7 on Israeli soil.

A 19-year-old Palestinian was killed and two others wounded by Israeli gunfire during a raid in Qalqilya in the northern West Bank, the Palestinian Authority Health Ministry said.

In El-Bireh, Ramallah’s sister city and headquarters of the Palestinian Authority, a 14-year-old boy was killed and three other Palestinians were injured when the Israeli army opened fire in clashes that erupted during a raid and led to arrests, according to same source.

No comment could initially be obtained from the army.

In addition, according to the Israeli army and Magen David Adom, the Israeli emergency service, an Israeli was killed near the Israeli settlement of Einav in the northern West Bank after his car came under Palestinian fire.

“The army has set up roadblocks in the area and is pursuing the terrorists,” an army statement said.

The Palestinian Health Ministry also announced that a 14-year-old Palestinian who was injured in an Israeli fire in a village in the Nablus region on Monday died on Thursday.

For several months, the West Bank has been the scene of numerous Israeli army operations, abuses of Israeli settlers against the Palestinian population and Palestinian attacks on settlements and Israeli forces.

According to the Palestinian Ministry of Health, nearly 130 Palestinians have been killed by fire from Israeli soldiers or settlers in the West Bank since October 7.

According to Israeli authorities, more than 1,400 people, mostly civilians, were killed in Israel, most of them during the Hamas attack on October 7.

According to the Hamas Health Ministry, which controls the Gaza Strip, retaliatory Israeli bombings in the Palestinian territory have killed nearly 8,800 people, the vast majority of them civilians.
