Two women and three men were injured, one seriously, when gunfire erupted on the famous Coney Island boardwalk in New York City early Sunday morning in the latest weekend of violence in the Big Apple.

A 31-year-old man is in critical condition at Coney Island Hospital after being shot in the back. Four other victims are in stable condition at NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn. Their names have not been published.

A 36-year-old man was shot in the chin and a 19-year-old man in the leg. Two women – a 27-year-old and a 26-year-old – were both shot in the left leg.
