Tycoon Rupert Murdoch remarries at age 92

Rupert Murdoch, the 92-year-old media mogul, has announced he is marrying 66-year-old Ann Leslie Smith. The former model will become the businessman’s fifth wife, after only announcing her split from Jerry Hall in August 2022.

Murdoch was previously married to Patricia Booker (1957 to 1968), to Anna Murdoch (1967 to 1999), to Wendi Deng (1999 to 2013) and finally to Hall (2016 to 2022), with whom he has had a media-related and controversial split ever since the businessman is said to have announced his separation intentions by email.

The millionaire met his fiancee, who is 26 years his junior, in September 2022 – just a month after their old relationship ended – and they decided to marry at the end of the summer of 2023, so around July or August of this year.

The announcement was made by Murdoch himself at one of his media outlets, the New York Post.

“I was very nervous. I was afraid of falling in love, but I knew that this would be the last (…) better. I’m happy,” he said.

Murdoch is the major shareholder in the Fox News companies, owning The Wall Street Journal – both from the United States -, The Sun from the UK and the television network Sky News from Australia.

For all his investments, he has a net worth estimated at $17.5 billion, according to Forbes magazine.
