Tyler Christopher, actor of the series “General Hospital”, dies at the age of 50

The actor Tyler Christopherknown for his performance as Nicholas Cassadine in the North American series General HospitalHe died this Tuesday morning at the age of 50 at his residence in San Diego, California.

According to his castmate from the same series, Maurice Benard, a heart complication cost him his life. The actor fought against it bipolar depression and that alcohol.

“It is with great sadness that we share the news of the passing of Tyler Christopher. Tyler passed away this morning after… cardiac event at his apartment in San Diego,” Benard, who played “Sonny Corinthos” on the ABC soap opera, wrote in a heartfelt Instagram post.

“Tyler was a sweet soul and a wonderful friend to everyone who knew him. He was an advocate for better mental health and substance abuse treatment.“he added.

In a statement, his manager Chi Muoi said he was devastated and said the news was “incredibly shocking.”

“He was a very talented actor and, more importantly, an incredible friend. “My condolences go out to his friends and family who loved him so much.”reads the text broadcast by CNN.

Tyler Christopher born November 11, 1972 in Joliet, Illinois. He was the youngest of four brothers who belonged to a family with Native American ancestry. His mother, Jimi-Ann, was a member of the tribe Choctaw and his father, Jim Baker, was Seneca.

Christopher began his acting career in 1996 when he was cast as Nikolas Cassadine on the soap opera “General Hospital.” The character was a success and Christopher stayed on the series for several years.

In addition to General Hospital, Christopher has also appeared in other television series including Las Vegas, NCIS and CSI: Miami. He has also appeared in a few films such as “The Perfect Son” (2009) and “The Haunting of Sharon Tate” (2019).

In 2002, Christopher married actress Eva Longoria, but the marriage ended in divorce in 2004. In 2008 he married actress Brienne Pedigo, with whom he has a daughter, Boheme.
