Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte round-by-round live updates

MMA Fighting has live updates all about Tyson Fury vs Dillian Whyte on Saturday afternoon at Wembley Stadium in London, England on one of the best boxing fights of the year.

Fury, who has a career record of 31-0-1, will be making his debut this year. He has KO’d Deontay Wilder in his last two games.

Fury has said this will be the last fight of his career. He is expected to earn around $30 million for the fight.

Dillian Whyte (28-2), who will earn around $8 million for the fight, will also step into the ring for the first time this year. In his last fight, Whyte avenged a previous loss to Alexander Povetkin with a fourth-round TKO on March 27, 2021.

Whyte doubles the jab, Fury hits him with a left hook. A right bypasses Whyte’s defense. Fury is leaning against the ropes right now at Whyte. Fury just passes Whyte and whips him with straight punches. Fury uppercut as he comes off the ropes.

Fury creates a right that connects. Step in jab for Whyte. Whyte wants to go to the body but Fury makes him pay with counters. Lyson warns Whyte to be careful how he uses his elbow in the clinch. Whyte’s only offense at the moment is bodywork, which doesn’t seem to affect Fury that much. Fury intervenes and he takes Whyte apart. More jabs from Fury. Whyte connects with a nice body shot. “Dillian Whyte is a warrior and I think Dillian will be a world champion,” Fury said afterwards. “But tonight he met a great in the sport. I’m one of the greatest heavyweights of all time and unfortunately Dillian Whyte had to face me here tonight. There’s no shame, it’s a tough game, he’s strong as a bull and has the heart of a lion, but you don’t take on a mediocre heavyweight. You took on the best man in the world and you saw what happened.”

Asked about his retirement, Fury thanks his trainer SugarHill Steward for making him “the biggest puncher in boxing”. He calls Steward the best boxing trainer ever.

“I promised my lovely wife Paris at 14 that it would be after the Wilder 3 fight,” Fury said. “And I meant it. It was a great trilogy and I meant it. But I was offered to fight at home at Wembley and I think I deserve it and I owe it to the fans. I owed it to everyone in the UK to come here and fight at Wembley.”

“Now everything is settled and I have to keep my word. I think that’s it. This could be the final curtain for ‘The Gypsy King’.”
