The British authorities announced this on Friday “Hundreds” of missiles sent to Ukraine to defend against Russian bombings of several cities in recent hoursincluding the capital Kiev, which has so far killed around 30 people and injured more than 160.
“The UK is moving quickly to strengthen Ukraine’s air defenses”British Defense Secretary Grant Shapps said after Russian President Vladimir Putin's “murderous airstrikes”.
“Hundreds of British-made anti-aircraft missiles are going to Ukraine to ensure you have everything you need to defend yourself against Putin's barbaric bombardment», the Defense Minister noted in his X account.
This Friday, Russia launched a series of attacks on several Ukrainian cities such as Kiev and Zaporizhia. where the highest death toll was recorded, about ten each. Other cities such as Odessa, Dnipro, Lviv and Kharkiv were also hit.
Ukrainian authorities have highlighted the unprecedented impact of these attacks, a theory echoed by United States President Joe Biden, who described them as such “Big air raid” since the invasion began, now more than 22 months ago.
Commander-in-Chief of the Ukrainian Armed Forces Valeri Zaluzhni stated that Russian forces fired 158 projectiles, including rockets of various types and unmanned aerial vehicles. However, he emphasized that they managed to neutralize 87 cruise missiles and 27 drones.
