At least One person died and four others were injured As a result of an attack by Ukrainian forces on Belgorod (Russia), local authorities have reported.
“Our air defense system is deployed over Belgorod (…); several air targets were shot down as they approached the city,” the region’s governor, Vyacheslav Gladkov, said in a Telegram message. “A man died as a result of the direct impact of one of the projectiles on a private residential building. Four people were injured,” the regional director added on the same platform, reported by Interfax.
The attack on the region occurred around 11:00 p.m. (local time) on Friday and among the victims was a 10-year-old boy who the governor said was in “moderate” condition. The Russian Defense Ministry had previously reported that Russian air defense systems shot down a total of 13 Ukrainian missiles over the area this Friday.
In addition to the human damage, two cars and ten private houses were affected to varying degrees, and there was also damage to the city of Belgorod's water supply systems, Gladkov explained.
