For several weeks, the Ukrainian army has been slowly but surely gnawing at Russian positions as part of the counteroffensive launched from Kiev. But it remains constrained by a lack of armament, particularly fighter jets, its commander-in-chief Valeri Zaloujny stressed in an interview published by the Washington Post on Friday. The Ukrainian army has made progress in recent days. How’s the counter-offensive going? Has it entered its active phase?
We have reason for cautious optimism. I would call what is happening on the ground “an intelligence counteroffensive.” The most important thing for us remains the preservation of the human life of all our soldiers.
