247 Kiev will continue to lose territory as long as it remains on the path of Western policy, believes former US military intelligence officer Scott Ritter, according to a report by the Sputnik agency. In an interview with the Midwestern Marx podcast yesterday (29), Ritter spoke about Ukraine’s options for reaching agreement on a peace treaty with Russia. Scott Ritter recalled the meeting in Istanbul at the end of March 2022, since the countries did not resume negotiations.

“[Os representantes ucranianos] arrived in Turkey [em 2022]. […] There was a meeting at which the conditions for resolving the conflict were agreed upon. The West did not allow them to do this. […] They have already lost territory because of this,” the former officer said.

In his opinion, Ukraine’s reluctance to accept the draft Istanbul Agreement and follow its conditions is leading to the Ukrainian authorities losing control over a number of cities: Kharkiv, Sumy, Dnepropetrovsk, Nikolaev and Odessa.

“The game is over, Ukraine. You have signed your own death warrant. It could have remained intact if you had signed and fulfilled the Istanbul agreements,” the expert noted.

Douglas Macgregor, in turn, also pointed out the large number of losses suffered by Ukrainian troops.

CONTINUED AFTER RECOMMENDATIONS

“The Ukrainian phase of the war is over. They are losing soldiers on a scale comparable to the losses suffered by the Allied forces on the Western Front during the First World War. Every day of fighting on the Western Front in 1918 we lost an average of 1,000 men per day. Make peace, you fools,” the colonel wrote on X (formerly Twitter).
