(ANSA) — ROME, 16 MAY — “During the special operation in Ukraine, documented evidence was obtained testifying that biological weapons laboratories were set up near our borders.” This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, quoted by the Russian agency Tass.
“US biolabs in the post-Soviet space are collecting biological material and studying the details of the spread of dangerous diseases. In fact, they developed biological weapons in Ukraine,” Putin said at the jubilee summit of the Collective Security Treaty Organization in Moscow.
As for Sweden and Finland, “Russia has no problems” with them, and “possible NATO membership does not pose a threat to Moscow,” Putin said, adding, however, that “the development of military infrastructure (NATO) in these areas will certainly provoke our response,” he added.
Finally, Putin declared that “there are extremists in all countries, but Ukraine has turned its Nazis into national heroes”. (HAND).
