According to its own statements, the Ukrainian military continues to advance in the fight against invading Russian troops in the south of the country, in Dnipro. After advancing across the river, Ukrainian armed forces today reported “a series of successful operations” on the eastern bank, in the Kherson region, partially occupied by Russia.
It was possible to establish some bridges. Other operations on the east bank are ongoing. On Wednesday, Kherson governor Vladimir Saldo, sworn in by Russian occupation forces, admitted for the first time that Ukrainian forces had crossed the river.
Until now, the southern front has largely developed along the Dnipro. The wide river that flows into the Black Sea divides the Kherson region and has recently also been a large natural barrier on the front. Both Ukraine and Russia claimed that the other side suffered heavy losses in the country.
