“The Embassy of Italy in Ukraine joins the civil mourning ordered by the Kiev authorities today and hoists its Italian and European flags at half-mast. On behalf of the Italian Government, we express our deepest condolences for the 42 deaths and deep solidarity with the 160 wounded, victims of the attacks carried out by Russia on December 29th, a violence that ravaged homes, schools, hospitals, churches and shopping centers throughout the country Ukrainian territory was concerned. These further losses increase the dramatic number of innocent civilian casualties and soldiers killed in defense of the homeland.” This was announced by the Italian embassy in Kiev.
“Italy and its government – let us read again – will remain at Ukraine’s side 360 degrees for as long as necessary. We join the chorus of all who are calling for a just peace on our continent, Europe.”
