Ukraine said on Sunday it had shot down 10 of the 12 drones launched by Russia in a new night raid, as well as a guided missile.
Russian forces launched 12 Shahed drones, Iranian-made devices that Moscow often uses against its neighbor, the air force said, saying it shot down 10 of them.
A Kh-59 guided air missile was also shot down, the armed forces said in their daily report.
Kiev has bolstered its air defense systems with Western weapons since last winter, when Russia systematically attacked its energy infrastructure.
Millions of people were without power in the middle of a cold snap, something Ukraine wants to avoid at all costs this year.
But the country says it needs many more weapons to protect vulnerable regions.
Russia accused Kiev on Sunday of carrying out several attacks in the Belgorod region bordering Ukraine without causing any casualties or major damage.
According to local governor Vyacheslav Gladkov, drones and artillery fire targeted several villages.
