Ukraine tried to kill Putin in an attempted attack on the Kremlin, Russia says

Russia said on Wednesday Ukraine tried to attack the Kremlin the seat of the Russian government in Moscow with two military drones.

According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitri Peskov, the attempted attack took place on Tuesday evening (2). State forces managed to intercept the drones and prevent the attack.

However, images on social media showed smoke and fire in the dome of one of the Kremlin buildings. Another video shows a drone approaching the dome and then exploding:

The Kremlin said the action was a “planned terrorist attack” for this reason, believes it has the right to take retaliatory actionaccording to the Russian news agency RIA.

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) said it sees the threat of attacks on infrastructure facilities in Europe and the United States in retaliation from Moscow. The NATO intelligence chief said there was a high risk that Russia would sabotage offshore gas distribution pipelines to Europe in the coming days.

As with other allegations of assault that The Ukrainian government has not officially commentede, but a Kiev presidential aide said his country had nothing to do with the attack.

The alleged attempt to attack the Kremlin coincides with a new Russian offensive in Ukraine. More than 25 airstrikes were registered in southern and central Ukrainian cities.
