“Zaporizhia: Two people were killed and seven injured. Three deaths were initially reported. Fortunately, one person was revived,” Interior Minister Igor Klymenko told Telegram.

The previous death toll of three was announced by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, who released a video showing a damaged church with flames and smoke in the courtyard and another burning building.

Mr. Klymenko said that “rescuers quickly put out the fire” and that the injured were outside at the time of the attack.

According to regional governor Yuri Malakhko, “a church and shops” were hit in the Shevchenki district of northeastern Zaporizhia.

“Doctors are tending to the injured,” he added, adding that the windows of neighboring buildings were shattered by the blast.

“The enemy attacked a residential area,” said Anatoly Kourtiev, chairman of the Zaporizhia City Council.

This city, a few tens of kilometers from the southern front, is a regular target of Russian bombardments.
