Ukraine claims to have killed more than 30 Russian officers
A rocket attack on the Russian Navy’s headquarters in Crimea last week killed 34 officers, including the fleet commander, Ukraine said on Monday, although without providing evidence.

Ukraine’s special forces said on Telegram that they had hit the main building of the Moscow Black Sea Fleet headquarters in the port city of Sevastopol on the annexed Crimean peninsula, injuring 105 people.
Euronews could not independently verify this claim, which differs greatly from what Russia has reported.
The Russian military initially said a soldier had been killed, but later claimed the person was not killed but was missing. Moscow has not provided any further updates.
Ukraine has increasingly targeted naval facilities in Crimea in recent weeks as its summer counteroffensive in the east and south makes slow progress.
Russia’s Black Sea Fleet under pressure – Great Britain
In its update on the Ukraine war this morning, the UK Ministry of Defense said there had been attacks on the Russian Black Sea Fleet in recent days and weeks.more damaging and more coordinated than before in the war“.
According to the ministry, Russia’s Black Sea Fleet suffered “severe but localized” damage – not enough to prevent it from carrying out its core mission, but enough to put it in defensive mode.
“Its ability to continue broader regional security patrols and enforce its de facto blockade of Ukrainian ports will be limited,” the ministry said. “It also likely has a limited ability to defend its port assets and conduct routine maintenance.
“A dynamic, deep offensive battle is underway in the Black Sea. This likely forces Russia to adopt a reactive stance while demonstrating that the Ukrainian military can undermine the Kremlin’s symbolic and strategic power projection from its warm-water port in occupied Sevastopol.”
Russian drone attacks rock Ukraine overnight
Russia attacked Ukraine overnight with 38 Iranian-made Shahed drones, the Ukrainian air force said on Tuesday, claiming that Ukrainian air defenses had destroyed 26 of the devices.
The Odessa region was one of the positions attacked overnight by Russian forces, particularly targeting the port of Ismail.
The attack lasted two hours, regional governor Oleg Kiper wrote on Telegram, claiming that “most of the drones” were shot down.

“Unfortunately, the port infrastructure in Izmail district was damaged,” he explained, also lamenting two injured truck drivers, one of whom was hospitalized.
The river port of Ismail, located on the Danube on the border with NATO member Romania, has become one of the main export routes for Ukrainian agricultural products to the Black Sea since the agreement allowing Ukraine to freely transit its production was abandoned in July.
Since then, Russian attacks have multiplied in the southern regions of Odessa and Mykolaiv.
This latest offensive follows a Russian attack that Odessa authorities described as “massive” on Monday. The region was attacked by 19 Shahed drones and missiles, including two supersonic Onyx missiles.
According to Governor Oleksandr Prokudin, four people were also injured in the south, in the Kherson region, after Russian attacks on Monday evening.
