Estonian President Alar Karis pledged to provide 1.2 billion euros to Kiev by 2027 after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Estonia as part of his Baltic Sea trip. Estonia, Lithuania and Latvia are among Kiev's staunchest supporters against Russian aggression, promising the highest share of gross domestic product of all allies.
The head of state of Ukraine arrived in Tallinn today as the second stop on his trip. Yesterday Zelensky was in Lithuania, where the government has pledged almost $220 million to Kiev over the next three years.
During a joint press conference with Zelensky, Karis called on the EU to step up its military support for Ukraine as the country enters the third year of war with Russia. “Ukraine needs more and better weapons. The capacity of the EU military industry must be increased so that Ukraine gets what it needs not tomorrow, but today,” Karis said.
