(ANSA) — NEW YORK, May 14 — In late January, Wagner Group chief Yevgeny Prigozhin offered Ukraine information on the positioning of Russian troops so Ukraine could attack in exchange for withdrawing Kiev soldiers from the area around Bachmut. This emerges from the Pentagon leaks reported by the Washington Post.
Prigozhin had made his suggestion through his contacts with military intelligence in Kiev. Confirmed contacts, the US newspaper adds, of two Ukrainian officials who say Prigozhin spoke to the Kiev government’s Military Intelligence Service (HUR) on separate occasions.
