“Russia has a very clear concept of using nuclear weapons: only in the event of an existential threat to the country,” Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov told CNN in an interview with Christiane Amanpour.

The special military operation in Ukraine is going according to plan, said Peskov, quoted by the TASS agency, explaining that from the beginning nobody expected that the operation would last a few days. The main goal of the armed forces deployed in Mariupol is to expel nationalist units from the city, he added.
The aim of Moscow’s special military operation is not to occupy Ukraine, the spokesman said.
