New drone attacks on Russian territory

Ukrainian army reports partial successes

The Ukrainian army says it is advancing further on two long-contested sectors of the front. The General Staff announced on Tuesday that there had been “partial successes” in the town of Klishchiyivka, south of the city of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine. The Russian army captured Bakhmut in the Donetsk region in May after months of costly fighting. However, Ukraine is now attacking north and south of the city.

Furthermore, the occupants on the flanks are pressured. The Kiev General Staff reported further partial successes in the Robotyne area of the southern Zaporizhia region. The Ukrainian army has been slowly working its way through heavily mined Russian defense lines for weeks. Military information is often not immediately verifiable; In this case, however, they approximately correspond to the picture of the situation that experts can recognize with the help of photos and videos. The Ukrainian army reported Russian artillery fire and airstrikes from all sectors of the front.

In the area of the Russian city of Volgograd, a Russian Sukhoi Su-24 fighter jet crashed on Tuesday during a training flight on the Volga. The Russian Defense Ministry in Moscow said the plane had no weapons on board. “The plane crashed in an uninhabited area.” No information was given about the fate of the two pilots. The Su-24, developed during the Soviet era, is used to combat ground targets. Both sides use this type of aircraft in the Russian war of aggression against Ukraine.
