Russia reports drone shot down near Crimea and over Moscow

Ukrainian drone attacks in Crimea and Moscow

According to its own statements, Russia shot down several Ukrainian drones on Sunday night. At least six drones were intercepted off the coast of the Crimean peninsula and two more in the capital Moscow region, authorities said. Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said there were no reports of damage from debris.

There were delays at Moscow’s three main airports because of the attacks, state news agency Tass reported. After the drone flew over Moscow’s Istra district, another Ukrainian drone was shot down over Ramensky on Sunday morning, Mayor Sobyanin said.

According to the Russian Defense Ministry, Ukraine carried out a coordinated drone attack on the peninsula. The missiles came from different directions, including northwest and east. The authority did not provide any information about possible damage or victims.

Ukraine has been carrying out attacks on the territory of the aggressor, Russia, for months. The recapture of the Crimean peninsula is one of Kiev’s most important war objectives, which in the ongoing counteroffensive wants to cut the supply lines between Crimea and Russia that cross the occupied territory of southern Ukraine.

According to Russian information, five people were killed by Ukrainian shelling in the eastern oblast of Ukraine. Five people were killed in Kirov and Kuibyshevskji districts, and a woman was injured in Svetlodarsk, Russian-appointed regional governor Denis Pushilin wrote in Telegram.
