Natalia Grace, a Ukrainian orphan accused of trying to kill her adoptive parents a decade ago, is now nearly 22 and was under 10 when she was adopted, DNA test results show.

Grace's adoptive parents, Michael and Kristine Barnett, claimed she was a murderous adult in her 20s and was posing as a six-year-old when they adopted her 14 years ago.

In a new six-part series called “The Curious Case of Natalia Grace: Natalia Speaks,” Grace, who was accused by her Barnetts of “impersonating” a child, undergoes a DNA test that confirms she is being truthful about her age has stated all along.

“This little piece of paper throws every single lie the Barnetts have said into the trash with a match,” Grace tells her new adoptive father Antwon Mans as she breaks down in tears on Monday's episode.

“This is so big. Because literally, it's been 13 years of just two people getting their asses fucked,” she continued. “You ruined a child’s life. They portrayed me as a big monster when in reality they were.”

“It just proves I wasn't lying about my age,” added Grace, who suffers from a rare form of short stature called spondyloepiphyseal dysplasia congenita.

“That’s exactly right,” Mans said, before Grace continued, “I just want to know why this story was made up. They knew it and still did what they did.”

The DNA test results confirmed that Grace was just 9 years old when she was abandoned by her adoptive parents who fled to Canada.

In the docuseries, Grace recounted what happened after she was adopted by the Barnetts in April 2010.

Two years later, the couple petitioned Marion County Probate Court in Ohio to legally change the girl's birth year from 2003 to 1989, which was granted, changing her age from 8 to 22.

They then moved with their biological children to Canada, where their eldest son would begin college.

The Barnetts previously accused Grace of emotionally and physically abusing them and of looming over the couple with a knife in hand as they slept – a claim she denies.

In 2013, the couple soon found themselves in legal trouble when it was discovered that Grace was living alone in an apartment in Lafayette, Indiana, leading to an investigation and her arrest.

And in 2019, the now-divorced couple was charged with neglect of a dependent.

Michael Barnett was ultimately found not guilty by a jury in 2022, and Kristine Barnett had all of her charges dismissed in March 2023.
