BREAKING NEWS: Ukrainian police reported the murder of a US citizen in Chernihiv

Ukrainian police say a US citizen has died in an explosion in Chernihiv.
The Chernihiv Oblast Police posted on Facebook on Thursday: “Police are documenting the aftermath of enemy shelling of civilians in the center of Chernihiv.
“Today, the invaders once again delivered a strong artillery strike on unarmed civilians in the city. There are dead and wounded. Among the dead is a US citizen.
“Police officers are helping to evacuate injured citizens to medical facilities.
“Investigators of the Chernihiv police are working at the scene. Law enforcement officers are carefully documenting all the circumstances and consequences of Russia’s war crimes.”
A State Department spokesman told : “We are aware of reports of the death of a US citizen in Ukraine on March 17th. We are monitoring the situation closely but are unable to confirm these reports at this time.
“We express our sincere condolences to the families of all those who died in this unprovoked and unjustified war.
“We have no further comment at this time.”
