Ukrainian refinery damaged in drone attack news

A refinery in the city of Kremenchuk was damaged in fresh Russian drone strikes in Ukraine last night. “There was fire. All emergency services are working on site,” said the military governor of the Poltava region, Dmytro Lunin, on Telegram. The refinery is temporarily closed. There were no deaths or injuries.

Kremenchuk is an industrial city. Oil processing is an important economic sector. Due to its strategic importance, the city and refinery were bombed several times during the Russian war of aggression.

The city’s most high-profile attack occurred last summer, when Russia hit a shopping mall with a missile, killing more than 20 civilians.

According to the General Staff in Kiev, Russia attacked Ukraine with a total of 24 drones overnight. The military stated in its situation report that 17 of them were destroyed. This time, the targets were attacked mainly in the north and center of the country. Flying objects were shot down in the Sumy, Poltava, Kirovograd and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
