UN Assembly approves “ceasefire in Gaza; Israel and USA vote against Check

It also calls for the immediate, continuous, sufficient and unimpeded supply of essential goods and services to the civilian population throughout the Gaza Strip, including, but not limited to, water, food, medical supplies, fuel and electricity, emphasizing the need, in accordance with that of international humanitarian law to ensure that civilians are not deprived of essential items;

Calls for immediate, full, permanent, safe and unhindered humanitarian access for the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees and other United Nations humanitarian agencies and their implementing partners, the International Committee of the Red Cross and all other humanitarian organizations, while respecting humanitarian assistance Principles and the provision of urgent assistance to the civilian population in the Gaza Strip, calls for the establishment of humanitarian corridors and other initiatives to facilitate the delivery of humanitarian assistance to the civilian population, and welcomes efforts in this regard;

It also calls for the occupation Israel’s order that Palestinian civilians and United Nations personnel, as well as humanitarian and medical workers, to evacuate all areas of the Gaza Strip north of Wadi Gaza and relocate to the southern Gaza Strip; recalls and reiterates that civilians are protected by international humanitarian law and must receive humanitarian assistance wherever they are; reiterates the need to take appropriate measures to ensure the safety and wellbeing of civilians and their protection, in particular children, and to enable them to move safely;

Strongly rejects any attempt to forcibly relocate the Palestinian civilian population;

calls for the immediate and unconditional release of all civilians held illegally in captivity and calls for their safety, wellbeing and humane treatment in accordance with international law;

Calls for the respect and protection of all civil and humanitarian facilities, including hospitals and other medical facilities, as well as their transport and equipment, schools, places of worship and United Nations facilities, in accordance with international humanitarian law, as well as all humanitarian and medical personnel, journalists, media workers and personnel associated with armed conflicts in the region;

Stresses the particularly serious impact of armed conflict on women and children, including as refugees and displaced persons, as well as on other civilians who may be particularly vulnerable, including people with disabilities and the elderly;
