320,760 people were left without jobs. There is an increase compared to last year.

Unemployment continued to rise in September. 320,760 people were registered as unemployed or in training at the end of September, which represents 14,601 people or 4.8 percent more than in the same period last year. This means that the negative trend in the internal labor market that has been observed since April has continued. In August 2023, the number of people registered as unemployed or in training was 320,759, an increase of 11,328 people compared to the same period last year.

The unemployment rate was 5.9 percent

However, compared to the pre-crisis year of 2019, unemployment was lower by 13,704 people, the Ministry of Labor and Economic Affairs announced in a statement released on Monday. The number of employees in September was 3,996 thousand, 35 thousand more than in the same period last year.

The unemployment rate rose to 5.9 percent at the end of September, 0.2 percentage points higher than the previous year.
