(ANSA) – ROME, DECEMBER 3 – The Israeli bombing of the southern Gaza Strip is “the worst bombing of the war at this point in time.”
UNICEF spokesman James Elder said this in a message on the social network X (formerly Twitter).
“I see a large number of victims among children. We have a final warning to save the children and our collective conscience,” he added.
Tanks entered Khan Yunis to target Hamas targets more specifically. A raid-filled operation aimed to wrest the southern part of the Gaza Strip from the Palestinian armed group.
More than 10,000 airstrikes have been carried out since October 7th.
The conflict continues to have a devastating impact on the population. On the northern front, Palestinians reported the deaths of at least 160 people from shelling in the Jabalia refugee camp.
According to Hamas, the number of casualties in the Gaza Strip exceeded 15,500, several hundred only after the end of the ceasefire. The situation of internally displaced people, who, according to the UN, now make up almost 80% of Gaza’s population, is also worrying.
