Uninvolved man killed in attack in Dijon drug scene

Unidentified people opened fire on a residential building near a drug transshipment point in the eastern French city of Dijon and killed a 55-year-old father. As several French media reported with reference to investigators, the apparently passerby was hit by a ricochet in his second-floor apartment on Sunday night.

According to the current state of the investigation, the man was not the target of the two fleeing attackers, broadcaster France Info reported. The newspaper “Le Parisien” reported that they fired at the building with submachine guns. Therefore, investigators collected around 60 cartridges from the building. The shots fired at night broke several windows without injuring anyone else. Referring to the victim’s adult daughter, Le Parisien reported that the 55-year-old woman was killed in her sleep. The Public Prosecutor’s Office wanted to provide information on the progress of the investigation in Dijon during the afternoon.

In Marseille, in the south of France, and other major cities, violent settlements in the drug community have increased recently. Young attackers often shoot with Kalashnikovs and also hit passersby. In Marseille, a student was shot dead in her room when criminals blindly fired an assault rifle at a facade. In Nîmes, a ten-year-old boy died after being shot in the back seat of his uncle’s car, who had no involvement in drug trafficking.
