Unión Comercio de San Martín have reached an agreement with a new coach who previously managed the Bolivian side. The selected technician has experience in his country, in Bolivia and Uruguay. He was also part of the technical command of the Bolivian team in qualifying On the way to Russia 2018 and officiated a game against South Korea.
The chosen one is Daniel Farias, brother of the famous César Farías. His last coaching experience was with Uruguay’s Boston River, a squad in which he oversaw 12 games. They have won three, drawn four and lost five. Farías has been a coach since 2009 and has won titles with clubs in Venezuela. In 2020, he became the champion of the First Division Deportivo La Guaira.

In the opening tournament of Liga 1, Unión Comercio already has three technical directors. He started the year with Peruvian DT Jesús Oropesa, who retired after poor results. The Colombian came as a replacement Jaime de la Pava, who stayed at the club for less than a month. Now comes Farías, who wants to improve the performance of the team.
Unión Comercio is 17th in the table with just 15 points. The gap to the relegation places is three points. In their last game, they were beaten 5-0 by Binacional de Puno.
