There is an elite unit ofIsraeli army which proved fundamental in the war against Hamas To Gaza:L’Unit 504. It is a Secret department of Military espionage, AMAN, consists of hundreds of agents: military intelligence agents deployed on the battlefield whose task is not only to fight, but also to exploit the data collected by two different internal military structures: the Elint (electronic intelligence ) and the Comint (communication intelligence). The 504 often intervenes with the help of the Sayet Maktal, the army’s elite anti-terrorism unit, analyzing sensitive data, interrogating prisoners and participating on the front lines of anti-Hamas and anti-terrorism operations anti-Islamic jihad.
Unit 504, a confidential source tells us, “also works with the US Department of Arab Affairs.” Shabak (formerly Shin Bet), internal services, monitoring and control of potential subversive activities and Hamas-related issues. “This group – our source continues – was reinforced after the October 7 massacre: its men act as support for the Shabak special teams, known as Henza.”

Asad Samlahinterrogated by 504 specialists, provided evidence that Hamas terrorists were gathering 50,000 Palestinian civilians to use as human shields inside the Red Crescent compound, where part of the Hamas general staff had sought refuge. Another terrorist told 504 specialists that around a hundred Hamas militiamen took turns controlling the Rantisi hospital in Gaza, which served as an outpost for military operations against Israeli cities. Currently, Unit 504 is tasked with ensuring security not only in areas controlled by the Israeli army in the Gaza Strip, but also militarily strengthening the northern border of the Gaza Strip and controlling the border near Lebanon. This elite unit now reports directly to the Chief of Staff, General Herzi Halevi, and has been reinforced with the addition of several hundred men, mostly reservists from the best army units, such as the Paratroopers (Tzanchanim) and the Golani Alpine Troops.
