He is accused of attempting to open an emergency exit and hitting a crew member on a flight from Los Angeles, California, to the Massachusetts state capital three times with a metal spoon. No serious injuries were found on the victim.

The perpetrator was overpowered by other passengers and employees of United Airlines, which had chartered the flight.
The man faces life imprisonment.
