A teenager who disappeared from California, USA in 2019 has been found alive and in good health nearly three years after his disappearance.
Connerjack Oswalt disappeared in Clearlake on September 28, 2019 at the age of 16.
The next day, he was reported missing to the police. The teenager with autism was found on April 9, 2022 in Summit County, Utah, more than 1200 kilometers away.
The young man was located after local residents informed police that a homeless person was in the area.
Police managed to persuade the young man to warm up in the car and he agreed to have his fingerprints removed.
When the results came in, authorities determined that there was a warrant out for Connerjack Oswald’s arrest in Nevada, but police didn’t believe the case was over.
They began searching the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s database and discovered the boys
“After about 16 pages of going through names and photos trying to find something that matched, the name Connerjack Oswalt came up,” Sheriff Martinez told FOX 13 News.
Once identified, they contacted the family, who had relocated to Idaho from California after their home was damaged by wildfire.
“Honestly, I’m still stunned by the situation. Finding him alive is amazing,” said Connerjack’s stepfather.
“We’re just grateful that he’s safe and alive and that we have our son back.” That’s the most important thing for us,” added his mother Suzanne.
