A fisherman from Quebec has made quite a discovery on the banks of the Saint-Charles River last August when he found a bottle that had been sent into the sea by a resident of New Zealand almost ten years ago.
While on a fishing trip in the area of the White Birch paper mill in Quebec on August 15, Stéphane Munro and his brother discovered what looks like a time capsule, the New Zealand Herald newspaper reports .
The Quebec resident, accustomed to fishing in the area, explained that he often found objects thrown around on the beaches, but it was only when he picked up the bottle that he was surprised to find that there was paper inside.
It was a 2014 letter about the life and family of one Jim Green, a history buff who lives almost 15,000 kilometers from Quebec in Whangamata, New Zealand.

Find Mr. Green
After his discovery, Stéphane Munro asked his fishing friends to help him find Green.
“I had to find the person who sent the message and tell them that their bottle had been found so far away. If I were him I would like to know,” Stéphane Munro told the New Zealand Herald.
After weeks, his brother finally came across an article about Jim Green on the Bay of Plenty Times website.
After failing to contact Green via social media, Munro wrote to the Bay of Plenty Times, which then took it upon itself to put the two men in touch.
One hundred Capsules
Mr Green, contacted by the Journal on Saturday, did not respond to our request for an interview but told the New Zealand Herald he had sent many similar time capsules around the globe.
“I’m only doing this so that when I die, someone will find the message I left behind,” he said.

From Sydney to Australia via the Canadian coastal provinces and even the United Kingdom, almost a hundred bottles would have set sail with their story inside.
Although he has absolutely no idea where the bottle found in Quebec came from, he said he is very happy that it was found since only a single person has contacted him since his adventure began.
