Unusual police chase in Quebec: He tries to escape after stealing a FedEx truck –

A 27-year-old suspect who stole a FedEx delivery truck was arrested after a police chase in Quebec on Wednesday afternoon. The person who finished his race on a footpath also fled after colliding with numerous vehicles.

At around 12:30 p.m., the man took the opportunity to escape in the FedEx delivery truck while an employee was making a delivery on Saint-Jean Street.

Approximately twenty minutes later, the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ) received calls regarding a hit-and-run involving the truck in question on Laurier Boulevard.

“The stolen vehicle was then found traveling northbound on Robert-Bourassa Boulevard. However, the suspect refused to stop when police turned on their flashing lights,” explains SPVQ spokesman David Poitras.

However, they lost sight of him before locating him when he was stuck on a footpath near Neuvialle Boulevard.

Through a land search, SPVQ police officers eventually found the suspect. He had been overpowered by the Sûreté du Québec police officers who had come to help them.

When arrested, the suspect was charged with vehicle theft, dangerous driving, hit-and-run and eluding.
