The Quadrantids are active every year between the end of December and the second week of January. During this period, the Earth passes through the orbit of the asteroid 2003 EH, whose fragments burn in the atmosphere like shooting stars. Most of them can be seen around January 3rd and 4th – So next week! Then the Quadrantids reach their peak. But it's also worth taking a look at the surrounding night sky.
Tips for the perfect shooting star night
- To spot a meteor shower, you don't need any special equipment or prior knowledge – just a clear sky.
- Find a place with low light and wait about 15 to 20 minutes for your eyes to get used to the darkness.
- Dress appropriately for the temperatures and bring a warm blanket or comfortable armchair or seat with you.
- Then lie down and just look at the sky. N/A? Have you seen a shooting star? So make a wish!
