It is still unclear why the accident occurred. However, the American military announced that it was an accident and there was no evidence of enemy activity.
An American military plane crashed during a training flight over the eastern Mediterranean, according to the American military. The cause is being investigated, according to a statement from the European Armed Forces (Eucom) on Saturday night. However, it can be said with certainty that the aircraft was on a training mission and there was no evidence of enemy activity. The incident therefore occurred on Friday night.
Out of consideration for the affected families, no additional information will be provided about the military personnel involved in the accident, he said. There was also no information about which unit the aircraft belonged to or what type it was.
On the short messaging service X, formerly known as Twitter, user EISNspotter wrote that a helicopter had crashed south of Cyprus. American military planes were then deployed to the maritime area between Cyprus and the Lebanese coast.

More recently, because of the Gaza war, the United States relocated several warships to the eastern Mediterranean as a deterrent, including the aircraft carriers “USS Dwight D. Eisenhower” and “USS Gerald R. Ford”. Air Force squadrons have also been sent to the region. The US military statement did not indicate whether the aircraft was linked to these units.
