Capitol police said in a statement that they would not share the agent’s name, as no one has been charged in the case.
Instead, the incident is considered a “discipline / personnel issue”.
However, the agency revealed that the officer has been with the USCP since April 2018 and has worked on three details for members of Congress.
“On February 14, a special agent for the protection of dignitaries of the US Capitol Police was doing preliminary work for a delegation of Congress in Israel, when the agent was accused of physical violence while the agent was believed to be under the influence of alcohol,” Capitol Police said. says in a statement.
