Zelenskyys adviser is angered and says leader will not attend

US growing weary of Zelenskyy’s endless demands

“Zelenskyy is acting like a spoiled, stubborn kid who gets everything he wants and it still isn’t enough,” says a Pentagon source

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Sputnik US officials are growing weary of Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelensky’s calls for Western support for Kiev, Douglas MacKinnon, a former Pentagon policy and communications adviser, writes in an oped for The Hill.

MacKinnon points out in his article, citing sources, that US President Joe Biden “attacked” Zelenskyy in June 2022, calling for the Ukrainian leader to “show more gratitude for the billions in aid he received from the United States through the American people.”

Asked about Zelenskyy’s endless calls for US aid, a former senior Pentagon official told MacKinnon that Western support is not endless.

“Zelenskyy acts like a spoiled, stubborn child who gets what he wants and it’s still not enough. Many in the US government and many of our citizens are growing weary of his accomplishments. I can assure you he is also burning bridges in Europe,” the former Pentagon official said.

MacKinnon stressed that more and more Americans are skeptical about continued US aid to Kiev, and that this trend is likely to increase “as the American people take a closer look at the horrific aftermath of the war and no longer put Zelenskyy on a pedestal.”

PROCEED TO RECOMMENDATIONS

This Friday (21), the media, citing three Biden administration officials, reported that the United States plans to announce a new military aid package to Ukraine worth up to $400 million (about R$1.9 billion) as early as next week.
