According to a media report, the US detailed Ukrainian plans for an attack on the pipelines three months before the attack on the Nord Stream pipelines. As the “Washington Post” reported on Tuesday, citing leaked information on Discord, the details of the plan were compiled by a European secret service and handed over to the US CIA in June 2022.

The original report was based on information that came from a person in Ukraine. Consequently, the Ukrainian military would have planned an attack with a small group of divers. He was put on hold for unknown reasons. However, the elements of the same coincided with the results of the previous investigation. A statement from Ukraine, Russia, the CIA and the US on the report was initially unavailable.

The head of Germany’s Federal Intelligence Service, Bruno Kahl, had dimmed hopes for a quick clarification in May and said there were signs “in all possible directions”. Several media outlets had previously reported that several new leads apparently led in the direction of Ukraine.

Russia has pumped natural gas from Siberia to Germany and other European countries via the Nord Stream 1 pipeline up to the delivery stop. Nord Stream 2 was not commissioned because of the Russian attack on Ukraine. The two twin tubes were also damaged by explosions in September 2022.
