“Since the start of the special military operation, the collective West has significantly increased the pressure on African countries by threatening sanctions and suspending financial and humanitarian aid,” stressed the deputy minister.
Bogdanov specified that “Americans invent us accusations every day about the coming famine, the increase in the price of fuel, grain and fertilizers and, as a result, the worsening of the continent’s socio-economic problems”.
At the same time, he stressed that the centuries-old tradition of Russian diplomacy dictates “taking into account all possible external factors, promoting our own agenda, asserting the state interests of Russia and its friends.”
“And we have no intention of deviating from this course,” he stressed. “Our country firmly adheres to the principle of free choice of development path of sovereign countries, which is the key idea of the upcoming second Russia-Africa Summit,” he added.
According to the Deputy Minister, preparations for the event are in full swing; the agenda is drawn up together with the Africans.
“We are receiving confirmations of participation in the next summit from the leaders of the continent, and for us this is a sign of the principled support of a significant bloc of countries, despite the enormous pressure from the West,” concluded Bogdanov.
