(ANSA) — WASHINGTON, JULY 27 — The Pentagon is poised to increase its forces in the Indo-Pacific region should Nancy Pelosi visit Taiwan. This was reported by official Associated Press sources. These would be fighter jets, ships and other surveillance systems to provide protective netting for the House Speaker’s plane.
The sources said the Defense Ministry did not believe an attack from China, like the one threatened by the Foreign Ministry spokesman in the last few hours, was likely, but was preparing for “all eventualities”. (HAND).
