Russia must reposition itself
Russia must now realign the supply of weapons, ammunition and fuel to its troops in the Donbass and Kharkov regions in the east and the Zaporizhia and Kherson regions in the south. It is unclear whether this will succeed without major mobilization. There are now more and more initiatives by Russian provincial authorities to recruit volunteers for the war.
The Himar system threatens the security of the “People’s Republic of Luhansk”, admitted this week the head of the region recognized by Russia as a state, Leonid Passechnik. “Luckily they don’t have many of these weapons. So there’s no need to panic.”
But Ukraine is hoping for more weapons from the West. Expert Zhdanov believes that Russia’s air defenses do not stand a chance against Himar missiles. Attackers use Soviet-designed rockets, which repeatedly miss their targets due to the lack of modern navigation systems.
