The United States is once again mourning the aftermath of tornadoes accompanied by violent storms. The preliminary death toll in the south and central east of the country has risen to 29.
The town of Little Rock (USA) is devastated. Houses are being pulverized for miles. Tornadoes hit several American states on Saturday April 1st and Sunday April 2nd. The death toll has reached at least 29, authorities said. A state of emergency has been declared in Arkansas. “We have activated the Arkansas National Guard and about 100 men are on hand to help,” said local governor Sarah Huckabee Sanders.
At least 31 tornadoes
These violent episodes also hit the states of Tennessee, Indiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Illinois and Delaware. The US weather services reported that at least 31 tornadoes had passed through nine states since Friday, March 31. Aerial photos in Tennessee also show the intensity of the phenomenon. There are heaps of rubble everywhere, entire districts have been erased from the map.
