Just days after the cat slipped into an unsuspecting passenger’s suitcase, the Transportation Security Administration has now discovered a dog hidden in the carry-on luggage of a person boarding from an airport in Wisconsin, United States.
“A dog was accidentally x-rayed at Dane County Regional Airport in Madison, Wisconsin,” TSA wrote on its Twitter account. The US government agency was born after the events of September 11, 2001 and is tasked with controlling airports and passenger safety of various modes of transportation in the United States.
“If you are traveling with a pet, inform your airline and know their rules. At checkpoints, remove your pet from its carrier and pass all your belongings, including the empty carrier, through the screening machine,” the agency explains in its tweet also releases an explanatory video to show how: “Here’s the right way to travel with your pet. Note: This is a passenger at the wheel and traveling with a cat. If you think your pet will try to run away, ask to speak to a supervisor before removing the animal. Alternative screening options may be available.”
The story of the cat Smells, who found shelter in a passenger’s luggage and was discovered at the checkpoints at John F. Kennedy Airport in New York, was different. A story with a happy ending, as evidenced by the photos, which show him enjoying a hearty Thanksgiving lunch a few days after returning home.
