USA: FORMER REPUBLICANS AND DEMOCRATS FORM NEW POLITICAL PARTY
LOS ANGELES (Portal) – Former members of the Republican and Democratic parties on Wednesday announced the formation of a new political party to appeal to millions of voters who they say mourn the existing political system in the United States.
This third party, called “Forward” (“Forward” in French), is co-led by Andrew Yang, former candidate for the Democratic nomination for the 2020 presidential election, and Christine Todd, former Republican governor of New Jersey.
The founding members of this new party told Portal that they hoped Forward would become an alternative to the Republican and Democratic parties that dominate political life in the United States.
The party will be officially launched on September 24 and its first national gathering will be held in the summer of 2023.
Three factions that have formed in recent years in response to the increasingly polarized and saturated political system in the United States have combined to form “Forward”.
This party, which describes itself as centrist, has not yet defined guidelines. Forward is seeking party registration and hopes to be able to vote in 30 states by the end of 2023 and in all 50 states by the end of 2024, in time for the next presidential election.
