An accident occurred on a Californian beach this Thursday at the end of the day.
A small plane crashed on the crowded beach near Santa Monica’s famous pier, killing the city’s former mayor…
Rex Minter, 95, was the sole occupant of the plane, a single-engine Cessna we see in the videos, which flew over the beach before crashing in the sand after an attempted forced landing.
According to the TMZ website, the plane had made an emergency call shortly after takeoff and the pilot had indicated he was attempting to land on the sand, which he felt seemed the only viable option.

The accident caused a wave of excitement, the beach was crowded for this time of year and walkers were enjoying the mild weather in the United States these days.
Rex Minter served as the city’s mayor from 1963 to 1967 before becoming a judge of the Los Angeles County Superior Court.
