According to the US, Russian soldiers are apparently executed by the Russian military if they disobey orders. “We have information that the Russian military has executed soldiers who refused to follow orders,” National Security Council communications director John Kirby told reporters on Thursday (local time). There was no immediate comment from Moscow.
“Russian commanders even threatened to kill entire units if they tried to retreat from Ukrainian artillery fire,” Kirby continued.
Representatives from the Kremlin, the Russian Defense Ministry and the Russian Embassy in the United States did not immediately respond to Portal’ requests for comment.
