The story of Kouri Richins goes around the world. This woman moved the United States last March with her book on grief after the loss of her husband. She was charged with murder on Thursday, May 11.

Not long ago, Kouri Richins was still promoting her book about grief on television sets in the United States. She wrote it with her three young sons after their father died. “My husband died unexpectedly last year. (…) You can imagine what a shock that was for us,” she said. In reality, Kouri Richins would have killed her husband by poisoning him. On March 4, Eric died in the middle of the night at their home after tasting a vodka cocktail prepared by his wife. She assured those around him that he had suffered a ruptured aneurysm, but police were quick to have their doubts.

The couple clashed over a real estate investment

Kouri had attempted to switch the couple’s life insurance to become the sole beneficiary. The husband reportedly confided to two of his relatives that he believed his wife had already tried to poison him twice. The police mainly discovered the exchange of text messages with a dealer from whom they ordered strong drugs. Eric had filed for divorce and the couple were feuding over a $2 million equity investment. The young woman is now in prison awaiting trial.
